On Saturday I sat at a table where I happened to observe a Heads Up hand between two female poker players. Given that the vast majority of players are males and it is pretty rare to have have two or more female players at the same table, watching a Heads Up hand between two female players is rare enough. The Out Of Position (OOP) in this hand was a tight aggressive player.
The In Position (IP) player had been considerably looser. And was showing signs of tilt. Possibly entitlement tilt. She had been folding a lot of hands on the flop or turn, often exasperatedly showing the player to her left the hand that she was ditching. The body language and language she was using gave me the feeling that she was feeling frustrated.
For the hand in question, on the turn, the OOP player check-raised on a board 6c7s8d10h. The IP player then shoved all-in. At which point the OOP player snap-called. The river was a blank. The IP player tabled a pair of 9s. The OOP player then smiled and laughingly tabled a pair of 9s for a chopped pot. The OOP then made a remark in a playful, friendly manner and leaned over the table to offer her opponent a high five. The IP player had face palmed while sighing loudly, and when aware of the offered high five, flipped her middle finger towards the OOP player....
I felt sad for the IP player who was having a great deal of trouble handling her tilt.....
