Just received an email from #1 son wishing me Happy Father's day. That was nice. What was nicer was that he put some effort into the email and made it a bit of a catch up email.
He is approaching his 21st birthday in November so there were some thoughts on what he will do at the time. Unfortunately that time coincides with end of University year exams and people leaving Auckland for their summer vacation experiences. No doubt he will work something out.
Plus he is pondering moving out into a flatting situation. Whatever he chooses to do I wish him well. With my move to Australia there has been precious little communication between myself and my sons. They are both independent and, as males sometimes tend to do, communicate in a sparse fashion with their father.
