I'm now into my 4th week in Melbourne, and into my 4th day at my 3rd AirBnB host. I have been very pleasantly surprised with my AirBnB experiences so far. From a stay in North Richmond with a lady in her 60's in October last year, through my North Brunswick experience with a young couple using AirBnB to defray the cost of their mortgage, to a young tradie running his own Air Conditioning business in East Brighton to a West African technology entrepreneur in Brighton. All different experiences with, so far, each place having more than acceptable facilities at pretty darned reasonable value.
All in all, a much better experience than bunking down at a back packers would have been or trying to land rental accomodation as soon as possible after landing in Melbourne.
